Multidisciplinary clinic with chiropractor, physiotherapist and osteopath

Treatment offer

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy as a specialist area includes a wide range of treatment forms and therapeutic methods, but the core of physiotherapy treatment lies in encouraging the patient's own participation and independent involvement in relation to their own health. This is achieved, among other things, through a focus on imparting knowledge, guidance and raising awareness of the patient in combination with exercises, physical training and a number of other treatment modalities.

Physiotherapist is a protected title, and physiotherapists are authorized by the Directorate of Health. Physiotherapists are, like other healthcare personnel, subject to the Act on Healthcare Personnel, they are bound by strict confidentiality and are required to keep records for their patients.

Chiropractic

Chiropractors are publicly approved (authorized) healthcare personnel with independent diagnosis and

processing responsibility. Chiropractors act as primary contacts in the first line service with

specialist expertise in nerve, muscle and skeletal disorders.

Chiropractors can:

● Carry out examination and treatment with reimbursement without a doctor's referral.

● Refer patients on to a medical specialist or imaging examination who

X-ray, MRI and CT.

● Sick leave patients for up to 12 weeks.

You can therefore contact your chiropractor without a doctor's referral.

Chiropractic as a treatment method aims to restore normal function in the musculoskeletal system and nervous system when malfunctions have occurred. The word chiropractic is Greek and means to treat with the hands.

HELFO provides reimbursement for examination and treatment by a chiropractor. The reimbursement is NOK 72 per treatment and NOK 152 for the first consultation. Treatment at a chiropractor is not covered by any of the free card schemes.

Students at university / college: You can get part of your chiropractor's expenses reimbursed via the student association. For more information; https://www.ssn.no/helserefusjon/

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is one of the oldest forms of manual treatment and was founded at the end of the 19th century by the American doctor Andrew T Still. Osteopathy's philosophy is to find the cause of ailments by promoting health and thus helping the body to heal itself.

When you come to an osteopath, a thorough medical history and a manual examination and treatment will be carried out. Here the emphasis is on connections between physical, psychological and social factors that affect our health. Plenty of time is set aside for the initial examination, which gives us time to get to know you and, through the clinical examination, determine whether it is safe for us to treat you or whether you must be sent on to another examination. The osteopath uses his hands as tools and the manual techniques used in treatment can be both light and powerful and can thus be adapted to the individual. Osteopathy is a holistic form of treatment where we work with all the body's systems.

An osteopathy education lasts 4 years and gives a bachelor's degree. In Norway, osteopathy has been seen as an alternative form of treatment, but in December 2020 the Storting decided that osteopaths should be authorized as health personnel. In many other countries, however, osteopaths are part of the primary health service.

Osteopaths are not entitled to reimbursement, but many health insurances cover osteopathic treatment
